BEAST MARKET: Photography and Creative Writing Exhibition

Photographer Amanda Crowther was commissioned by Chol Theatre during the research process to document the area, its people and those who contributed to the project. Subsequently many of the archival images were integrated into the multimedia stage premier at The Lawrence Batley Theatre in March 2008 and exhibited in the foyer.
Twelve of the photographs were selected by The Huddersfield Literature Festival as a focus for their annual Creative Writing Competition. The competition asked the public to write and submit a poem, a song, lyrics, script or short story in response to one of the competition images.
This exhibition features the three winning entries from the competition and their relative images plus a selection of other photographs taken from the extensive Beast Market portfolio.
